Martha's Vineyard Sound Decoupage Glass Tray

A ferry horn in the distance, a sea glass green chart, and the island you never quite leave. This Martha’s Vineyard Sound map floats under clear glass, roads threading through Edgartown and Vineyard Haven, up to Menemsha and Aquinnah, like a summer you can hold in your hand.

In our New York studio we practice French decoupage with care and precision. The map is laid in reverse on the underside, sealed with hand brushed varnish, then the glass is gently bent so light moves like water. The surface wipes clean, the back is felted, the piece is food safe, and Ben signs each one before it leaves the bench.

Set it by the door for keys and matchbooks, on a bar cart for citrus and sea salt rims, or stand it upright like a small framed horizon. A folded note travels with it, telling the time honored process that marries paper and glass. For island people, weekenders, and anyone who knows the pull of the Vineyard.
